FRISCO, Texas (April 7, 2022) — The US Youth Soccer North Atlantic Conference, Managed by EDP Soccer, will welcome two new girls clubs — Long Island Slammers and Manhattan Soccer Club — to the North Atlantic Academy Division for the 2022-23 season.

The Academy Division operates league play in a club-based format that, along with the team-based Premier I Division, makes up the top tier of competition in the North Atlantic Conference. As one of the 13 conferences in the USYS National League, the North Atlantic Conference presents top-performing tams in the top-tier divisions with the opportunity to advance to the USYS Eastern Regional Championships and earn qualification into USYS National League P.R.O.

“Manhattan Soccer Club is very happy to continue to expand our relationship with the National League and EDP,” said Tim Marchisotto, Girls Director of Coaching for Manhattan Soccer Club. “The Academy Division gives our players and teams an elite competition for our 13U through 19U teams in the Club vs. Club format. We are very excited to bring this format to New York City!”

For the current season, the North Atlantic Conference Academy Division features nine girls clubs: Alleycats SC, Cedar Stars Academy - Bergen, Chelsea Piers Shoreline, FC Copa Academy, New York Surf SC, NJ Premier FC, Princeton SA - Monmouth, Princeton SA – North, and STA MUSC.

“We are excited to add Long Island Slammers and Manhattan SC to the girls’ North Atlantic Conference Academy Division for the upcoming seasonal year,” said Jen Marcella, League Manager for the North Atlantic Conference. “The two clubs will be great additions to the strong collection of girls clubs currently competing in the Academy Division and help add to the competitive opportunities available to the many talented female players in the greater New York City metro area.”
