Format & Scheduling
WHO COMPETES?
The National League Mid South has both a Premier 1 and a Premier 2 Division that includes play for top teams throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.
WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
For National League Mid South divisions (Premier 1 or 2), brackets of up to eight (8) teams will see teams play seven (7) games throughout the course of the season, with most games hosted at neutral site events across the region. League games not hosted at conference events will be self scheduled by teams.
WHEN ARE THE GAMES?
As the National League Mid South encompasses a variety of states, the conference schedule is fluid based on the teams in each division, with an emphasis to avoid high school soccer conflicts. The 14U-19U Boys Premier I and Premier II teams will play a mostly fall-based season. The 14U-19U Girls Premier I and Premier II teams could play entirely in the fall, entirely in the spring, or a combination of both. For 13U Boys and Girls teams, a Premier II season will be offered in the fall, with Premier I being offered in the spring. Schedules will be released in early August.
WHY THE NATIONAL LEAGUE MID SOUTH?
The National League Mid South provides a regional-level league experience for teams in a competitive and structured environment. It also provides Premier 1 teams an opportunity to earn their place in a same seasonal year postseason event, as well as a National League Quarterfinal event for the next seasonal year. Premier 2 teams will have the opportunity to automatically qualify for the Premier 1 division for the next seasonal year.
HOW IS IT MANAGED?
The USYS National League manages the Mid South Conference with a full-time League Manager and an Assistant League Manager.
WHAT IS THE COST?
The Premier 1 Mid South divisions are $950 per season, while Premier 2 Mid South divisions are $700 per season. This covers all Mid South events, league management, etc. Referee fees are not included in this fee.
