FRISCO, Texas (May 12, 2023) — The USYS National League and North Texas Soccer Association are excited to introduce the North Texas Conference Qualifiers, which will be powered by Girls Classic League (GCL) and Classic League (CL), respectively. The solidification of the pathway in North Texas will provide teams with a direct and attainable pathway into the Frontier Conference.
The North Texas Conference Qualifier will kick off in the 2023-24 season and feature competition for boys and girls teams in the 13U-18/19U age groups, with top performers having direct qualification into the Frontier Conference. As one of the 13 conferences within the USYS National League, the Frontier Conference provides teams with advancement opportunities into the USYS National Championship Series, as well as the National League Conference Playoffs.
Through the attainable goal of promotion into the Frontier Conference, teams in the North Texas Conference Qualifier can experience and achieve national connectivity as they advance on the National League pathway and earn their place based on results on the field. This direct pathway is just a level away for the North Texas Conference Qualifier teams and achievable through top performances in the league.
“Girls Classic League is excited to offer a clear and direct pathway to the USYS National League platform and National Championship Series,” said GCL President Stephanie Cherry. “We will offer a new and elevated Elite division that current top GCL teams across Division 1 automatically qualify for and new teams will have the opportunity to apply for. This direct alignment with USYS offers earned opportunities for all teams and creates a strong and competitive playing environment for our players.”
“The Classic League’s mission is to provide the best competition, playing fields, and referees for our youth players and to continue to provide ample opportunities for their development and future success,” said Classic League Executive Director Suma Napper. “We are proud to announce a direct pathway to the Frontier Conference and — through the Frontier Conference — a pathway to the National League Conference Playoffs, National League P.R.O, and the National Championship Series. This new alliance with Classic League and USYS affords all of our teams the opportunity to compete at the highest levels.”
Beyond regular season play in the National League Conferences, teams can advance to the Conference Playoffs and ultimately National League P.R.O. — where they have the opportunity to compete for places in the annual USYS National Championships.
“I am thrilled to welcome the Girls Classic League and Classic League on board as official Frontier Conference Qualifiers,” said Frontier Conference League Manager Matt Dellaria. “This newly established structure will allow teams to progress up and down the National League pathway at all levels in North Texas.”
