FRISCO, Texas (March 14, 2024) — The game schedule is now available for the USYS National League P.R.O. event taking place May 3-7 in Oceanside, Calif.
National League P.R.O. will feature boys and girls teams in the 14U through 19U age groups in California. The girls will play May 3-6, and the boys will play May 4-7. The games in Oceanside will be played at the SoCal Sports Complex.
The teams playing at National League P.R.O. in Oceanside will be competing for a chance to advance to the 2024 USYS National Championships, presented by New York Life, as each gender will see six teams per age group qualify for Nationals during the weekend.
“Every national event this season has been filled with tons of excitement and great displays of soccer from the many talented teams and players that have competed, and we can’t wait for more of the same this May in California,” said Simon Collins, USYS National League Commissioner. “This is a truly unique competition in the youth soccer landscape, featuring both club-based and team-based competitors, and having spots to the National Championships on the line will only add to the excitement.”
The action in Oceanside will include teams representing 35 different states. The field of competing teams will feature one defending USYS National Champion and six 2023 Elite 64 National Final champion.
Teams playing in Oceanside are divided into pools within each age group, with pool placement based on performance from playoff events earlier this season. The Champions Pool features the top-performing teams, followed by the Silver Pool and then the Wildcard Pool. Visit the event homepage to view a breakdown of the pools.
National League P.R.O. features a primarily tournament/bracket style schedule. All age groups will see four teams qualify for the National Championships directly from the Champions Pool of National League P.R.O. The Silver Pool will qualify one team to the National Championships, and the Wildcard Pool will qualify one team to the National Championships. Qualification criteria may vary in certain age groups with fewer total teams.
A total of 60 teams will qualify for the National Championships from the National League P.R.O. event in Oceanside, and those teams will join the 60 teams who previously qualified for Nationals from February’s National League P.R.O. event.
